    Cascade + Uniqueness filter not working

    Having an issue with cascading drop down text boxes.  I have created the form, and set up the text boxes.  I can get the boxes to cascade correctly.  And I can get the uniqueness filters to work.  However, I cannot get them to do both at the same time.  I have tried many variations but for discussion sake lets look at the second box of the cascade, known as "Size".   (Pipe_Class is the 1st box in the cascade.)  Both are from the same secondary data source which happens to be a sharepoint list.

    If when adding the filter I select Pipe_Class in the first dropdown of the filter dialog, is equal to in the second spot, and type the following expression in the 3rd, the cascade works perfect but with duplicate values in the dropdown.

    current () /Pipe_Class

     If I remove that filter and create one selecting "The expression" in the 1st box and enter not(. = ../preceding-sibling::dfs:Pipe_Classes/@Pipe_Class) in the second, then I get rid of the duplicates, but the cascade does not work.  (Pipe_Classes is the repeating group which the rest of my fields are in.)

    I have tried anding them in the create filter dialog box, then I have no selections available in the "size" dropdown.  I have also tried combining them in one expression much like an example I had gotten from this forum as below.  In this case, neither the cascade nor the uniqueness filter works.  Can anyone see anything obviously wrong with my expression?

    not(. = ../preceding-sibling::dfs:Pipe_Classes[Pipe_Class = current()/Pipe_Class]/@Size)

    I think I have attached a zipped screen shot that might help.
