I am creating a form to organize the entire recruiting process. Throughout the form, I am looking for the best way to keep track of the status of the application. Sample status's could be

1. Being phone screened
2. Being Interviewed
3. Awaiting feedback from interview
etc...

This status field would then be displayed in a sharepoint folder with all the other applicants to keep track of where everyone is in the hiring process.

So far, the only idea I have come up with is to have a drop down box of the different status's, which could be manually updated as the candidate moves through the process. Can anyone think of a better, or more automated way to do this?

Hi Oleg,

You can use Rules to set the status value. I do not recommend putting this on the form. Use routing buttons and use rules to set the value programmatically. Double click on the button and define a rule to set the status value (after you submit the form). This is documented with more detail in other posts.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any chance you may be able to provide me a link with the main discussion for such a step, and/or with sample code? I am not the familiar with how to custom program the buttons, but I could probably manage to edit the code...
