Yeah, you didn't mention InfoPath, so I'm not sure why you posted it here, but I'll be glad to help. When using the email builder of SPD, you can't expect any special formatting. The best you can do is HTML formatting, but it's not going to be able to format like InfoPath - it's not a full design tool like that. All it can do is display the RAW XML data, which is what you're seeing. Setting a field to Date Only doesn't mean the XML is date only. That's just what the browser is configured to show the user. What you're seeing in the SPD emails is the real data.
So, there are a few things you can do. Since this is an InfoPath forum, I assume this data is coming from an InfoPath form. You can either use the Submit to Email data connection to send the form as-is straight to someone's Outlook where it will render just like it does in InfoPath. Or, if you must use the SPD workflow, then in your InfoPath form, create text fields that use concatenate formulas to make your raw data look how you want it to. For example:
- For the Date field, create a text field and set its default value to be substring-before(Date,"T") or something like that. This will strip off the letter "T" and the time stamp at the end while leaving you with only the date.
- For the Currency field, simply create a text field and set its default value to substring-before((concat("$",Currency)),"."), although that won't add comma delimiters to the number, but it will cut off the numbers after the decimal.
