    Resource file format

    I am very new to Infopath development, but I have managed to put together a few resource management forms.  I have several data connections to various Sharepoint lists and I have implemented a few cascading dropdowns for the browser enabled forms.  My problem is the performance, the lists range from 10 to 800 distinct values and the performance right now is just not good.  I have decided to move the most static lists into resource files in order to cut down on all the fetches.  My problem is I have no idea how to format the XML for these files.  Can anyone give me an example or provide a good reference on how to properly create the resource files?

    Hi Stone,

    Any XML format will work, just make sure the tags match up. For example:

    <Data>
    <Group>
    <Field1>Value1</Field1>
    <Field2>Value2</Field2>
    </Group>
    <Group>
    <Field1>Value3</Field1>
    <Field2></Field2>
    </Group>
    </Data>

    You can use Notepad to save, just make sure you save as and specify a name in double quotes "data.xml" so it doesn't tack .txt on the end of it.

    Another option is to use OWSSVR.dll to filter the list on SharePoint. qRules v2.0 includes a command to dynamically set the OWSSVR query. Check out the documentation here: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/49214/download.aspx
