infopath, sharepoint problem with automatic filename

hello, i have a little prob with a browserbased form. i want to automatically fill in the filename in a sharepoint library by using the MaxDocID + 1 of the column. In the Infopath preview it works quite good, but when the form is uploaded and i want to send the form to the library an error pops up. The message is full of quality: "There was an error in the form while sending It to the library" (equal) ...thank you microsoft, very smart. Can anyone help? thanxs and regards m

what do you mean by MaxDocID, i hope it refers to the highest document id of that particular document libary, to get the highest document id you might need a dataconnection to that document libary and add 1 to it

NOTE:  every time the form is submitted, it will create a new document.

    thanks for your answer

yes, i have the data connection to the library and i want do it in the way you wrote. in other words: give me the highest id than add 1.

after click button save the the document with the filename highest ID plus 1

do you think the error occurs because the id is changing when the form becomes submitted? (please excuse my english)

well i think the error occurs because there is no record in the document library(first time), and the data connection returns nothing, then you are trying to add 1 to nothign that is causing the problem. If this is not the problem, attach the template so that we can have a look at it and let you know

    hi,

i am not able to get much from that, but i think you might not be using(assigning them to some other field) all columns that are retrieved from the secondary data connection.
