    Repeating table question

I'm very new to using repeating tables. What I want to do is query an account number and load in the data from the SQL database rows into the repeating table based off the account number. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    SQL Database table example below:

    Acct Num Name Address
    1234 Name1 123 Main St
    1234 Name2 456 Jones St
    1234 Name3 789 Smith St

    Re: Repeating table question

Is the repeating table you want to load the data into in your main data source? Is your form bound to the database (that is, did you base your form off the database when you created it)?

If your form is not bound to the database, and you are using built in InfoPath SQL data connections to get this data back, without writing code your only option would be to return all the data. If you don't need the data in the main data source of your form, you can just display a repeating table bound to that secondary data source and use conditional formatting to hide the rows that don't match the account number entered in the form.

If you do need the data copied into the main data source of your form and you are using IP 2007, you might want to give qRules a try -- it has a Copy Table command you can use for this.

    Re: Repeating table question

Yes the repeating table is bound to the main date source. I actually got that part to work correctly. Above the table I would like for the Name, Account Number and Date to be displayed above it. I put that in a repeating section but its coming back with multiple records just like for the repeating table below it. Do I need to tie the top information to a different data source?

Is there any way to program a repeating table or section so that it doesn't repeat when there are duplicates?
