This is a process I work on once a year. I wonder if this process was designed effectively. Not.
I have a sharepoint site call ABC. Within ABC, we have employee1, employee2, employee3. Eash site holds it's own document library for each employee for each year of service. I created one template.xsn and for each employee, I change the data connection to submit the completed form to their document library and then I publish. Since I'm using the same template for all employees and their document libraries, I get the version control issue telling me this same template is created in a different document library already, replace or use the old one. In order for me to fix this versioning issue, I went into explorer, form, and edited the form id from the template. This was last year when I was running InfoPath 2007, 2003 and WSS 2.0.
This year, the only thing that changed was WSS was upgraded to 3.0. My problem is: when I go into explorer to change the form id, the Form folder is missing (when I'm using Office 2003). If I'm in Office 2007, it's there but I can't edit the template.xsn file anymore without saving the copy (which I never had to do before).
Is this the only way to develop a form to be used by everyone but I must have it saved and available for each user in their own document library so their direct supervisor can review this form.
