    Why do text sizes vary?

When I design a form, on my screen it looks absolutely fine, both in design mode, preview mode and released mode. However drop down lists, text boxes and date pickers display differently on everyone elses computer.

When I examin in design mode, they do have different text sizes set, however if I change them to all be the same they then look bad on my PC.

This is a bit frustrating as unless I check every control on the form every time there is a release, there is likely to be something incorrect. Also when moving controls around they tend to default back to their original values for text size.

Any hints to make my life easier?

This is not  a browser enabled form.

I've never seen anything like this. When I design a form, I make sure to set the Font Type and Size in all labels and controls, and these remain the same. Are you using InfoPath 2003 or 2007? Could you attach a sample form to see if it shows the varying text sizes on my machine?

When you click Reply (not Quick Reply), switch to the Options tab and attach the form.

Here is one example, though it has happened with just about every form so far

This one lookss fine on other computers, but the text size is all over the place on mine.

had previously just been leaving everything at the default 10 point, but it looked bad on my screen, so I changed the list boxes to 8 point which matched exactly. However if I copied and pasted an 8 point, it would then revert to 10 point.

If I just let things looks bad on my screen and just check that everything is set to 10 point, it is fine for other users, but obviously a bit hard sometimes for me to work out how wide some controls need to be in order to display the text correctly.

Thanks for attaching the form. It looks fine on my screen and I see nothing wrong with your design. You say this form has inconsistent font sizes on your computer? I can't imagine what is causing this, as there is nothing wrong on your form. If the issue cannot be reproduced on other machines, then I'm sorry to say that perhaps it's an issue with your machine. I would start by repairing Office and seeing if that helps.

Sounds like some of the controls on your form are obeying the font-size settings in your Internet Explorer (View->Text Size).

I believe you can get around this by opening up the Font taskpane in InfoPath design mode (Format->Font) and in the Pick formatting to apply: section, choosing Clear Formatting at the top (for each affected control).

    Hi Moggy,

if you need to apply uniform formatting to controls, go to properties of the view and in text settings set fonts for all the types of controls.

Re: Why do text sizes vary?

Jimmy you are exactly correct. Although it is not a browser enabled form, changing the settings in IE definitely does change the way that it looks on my PC. If I change the size to be smaller rather than medium, exverything looks the same as it does on my colleagues PCs.

Wierd. I could understand it if I was viewing it in a browser - that would make sense.

Anyway, I now know how to test the form each time. Thanks a lot.
