    Linking to a Repeating Table

    So I've set up a horiz repeating table where the user can select several options in a drop-down list.  For example, a user could select chicago, dallas, new york, paris, etc.

    My goal is to take the information that each user has entered and automatically recreate it further down the form.  So with help from this board, I've figured out that you can create several expression boxes to accomplish this task.  [field 1] [","] [field 2] [","] [field 3] etc.

    The only problem is that I don't know how to link to these additional cells added by the user. (field 2, 3, 4...)  Any ideas?

     I'm not quite sure what it is you're trying to accomplish, but might the attached form be along those lines?

     Here I've used a second horizontal repeating table bound to the same repeating field as the editable one, and used some expression boxes, with conditional formatting to hide the comma for the first cell.

    Wow, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for, thanks for putting that together!  Unfortunately, I can't quite figure out how to recreate this.

    Could you elaborate on how you were able to get the comma to work as you did?  I've tried several things but can't seem to get this right:(

     Could you attach a screenshot of your data source from the taskpane?  Essentially, you're probably going to want to use the expression

    count(preceding-sibling::my:groupName) = 0

    Where groupName is the name of the repeating group to which the repeating table is bound.

    Re: Linking to a Repeating Table

    So I did what you suggested (swapped groupName with group1) and pasted the copy above into the data source for the expression box. Unfortunately, I keep getting the following error :-(

    Expected value type: ,

    Actual value: ..
    count(preceding-sibling::my:-->..<--/../my:group1) = 0

    As you can tell, I'm not the most experienced with InfoPath, any additional insight you could give would be greatly appreciated!

    ../my:group1 has to be entered using insert field , you just point out the group1 it will insert it automatically.

     The expression should be used in the conditional formatting for the expression box, not as the expression box's expression.  But either way, I don't understand how the "my:../../" part got into your expression.
