InfoPath Dev

Hi,

I have a SharePoint list in one site collection (SC1) and an InfoPath form published in another site collection (SC2). What I want to do is get the list items from SC1 and use them in a drop down list in the InfoPath form.

I have tried using the 'GetListItems' method to achieve this, however, I continually get this SOAP error:

The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">Root element is missing.</errorstring></detail>

Can anyone help?

cross site and cross server data connections are supported by infopath client only.

So in a browser enabled form you are saying that we cannot use a web service to access data from another list? That doesn't sound right to me??.... Can anyone please elaborate...
