Hi,

I'm calling the 'GetCommonManager' method but when I preview the form I get the following error:

The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: GetCommonManager
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

Server was unable to process request. ---> Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

 I've done a bit of searching around and there are people with similar errors but not exactly like this one. Does anyone have any idea what it could be or where I should be looking to try to figure it out?

I have also done some testing after reading other forums. I tested to make sure that the 'getuserprofilebyname' method is working. Which it is. I also tested to make sure I could call the user's manager using the 'getuserprofilebyname' method and I could.

I use this method in addition to the GetUserProfileByName, and I find that it works exactly the same way.  It accepts the same parameter - userName() - and returns a subset of the same type of data, but it returns that data for the user's manager, which is cool.  Are you passing the correct parameter?

I am passing the user name parameter correctly. I have tested this in my VM and it works as it should so I'm guessing there is something in the environment that is stopping this from working?
