Data Connection To share point List

Hi Im new to info path, so this may be obvious.

I have created a list on a sharepoint site, to which i would like a form to populate the said list.

When trying to create a data connection, i select Sharepoint list and proceed to enter the URL for the list.

However each time i get "infopath could not connect, as the site may be offline, or your computer is not connected to the network".

I must stress the sharepoint site is our companies intranet. I have full access to the sharepoint site etc.  and my computer is on the network.

    Does anybody have any ideas?

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi -- what type of data connection are you trying to create? One to submit data, or one to receive data? If to submit, try just putting in the url to the SharePoint site or subsite, then selecting the correct form library in the next steps.

    hi thanks for replying.

    It was to receive data.

I have also tried to shorten to the URL so to speak, but it still doesn;t like it.

I dont think u would be doing this but just check if u have form services enabled on ur site. You need to have an Enterprise edition of MOSS for that

    Hi,

i was able to recreate your issue, but the issue got recreated only when i have access to the list and not to the site. if i have access to both the list and the site this error does not occur. Might be you should check your access to the sharepoint site as well as to the list.

    Hi Thanks for your efforts.

I have just asked my IT department to provide me with full access to sharepoint. I am now part of the Home owners group.

However the issue still occurs.... very frustrating.

     Any more ideas?

    Hi Rallphy,

Check if you are able to create a data connection on any list in the site. If no try creating a demo site on the server and create a list in that site and try to create a data connection on that list.

well,i think if u have all the access than problem is with the url that u r giving dont try to shorten ur URL,give the full url of ur Sharepoint site or subsite in which the list resides, and select the list from the selection that u'll get once u'll enter the site/subsite address correctly.Otherwise follow what Anis is Saying try creating some dataconnections to get ionfo from other lists in the Site.
