Project background: I'm creating a form that will essentially be serving as a package router. In it's simplest explanation, the originator will be filling in all the departments that the package needs to route to (the number of departments can vary from 1 to 20 at the most), attaches the files, and it goes into a Sharepoint Doc Lib with workflow to actually do the routing notifications. When the departments receives notification that the package is now on their plate, they are to digitally sign their line.
Ok, here's my question. To keep the entry form tidy I'd like to use a repeating table for the routing info (department, their action needed, etc) but I've found that in order for the digital signtures to work right, I need to get each entry into it's own set of fields (dept_1, dept_2, etc). Right now I'm setting up rules on the repeating table to say if the sequence number is 1, put the repeating department into field dept_1, action into action_1, etc; if the sequence is 2, put the department into field dept_2, action_2, etc. Is there an easier way to go about populating those fields? The rule setup is kicking my butt.
The form is web-based and I know nothing about how to do code-behind.
Thanks for any thoughts. I'll have several other questions about this same project as I go along.
