    Numbering / counting rows

I have an IP 2007 Form that has a data connection to a SQL table.

Based on drop down selections, the user can filter the data that is returned after hitting the Run Query Button.  As an example, return only rows with a date of yesterday.

The end user has asked for two things:

    1. For each filtered record set in a repeating table, they would like to have the rows numbered. The original table does not have an ID field.

    2. Once the filtered selection has been displayed, they would like to know the record count displayed

Any easy way to do either?

     Thanks

    Thank you for your Help.

We've got a sample form here that shows how to use preceding-sibling to do this for the main data source.  The main difference in your requirements are:

    1. You are using a secondary data source, and
    2. You need to add a filter to the field selection

So, with those items in mind, I've created another sample, located here. My sample is using an XML data connection, for portability, so I am using a main DOM field for filtering. You'll need to modify to use the query fields from your SQL data source for the filters on the XPath....
