Converting WordML to infopath richtext XHTML

    Hi All,

I need help regarding how to put word doc 2003 data into infopath richtext programatically.

We have a requirement that the data has to go back & forth from infopath to word document.

I am able to convert my infopath richtext data to wordml and put that wordml in a word doc programatically using XSLT file.

But i am unable to find the way to convert from wordml to Infopath rich text data, means i have to get some section from word 2003 with formatting and put the same into a richtext box in infopath form programatically.

I am using "Infopath 2003 using VS 2005" toolkit to write the custom code and C# language i am using.

Is that i have to write an XSLT to convert wordml to xhtml. I have very minimal basic understanding on XSLT.

Can any one help me. It is urgent. I searched a lot of articles in net, but i didn't find any thing suitable for me.

Note: I am using Word 2003, Infopath 2003 and Visual studio 2005

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks in Advance!

    Regards,

    Kavitha Y

Hi Kavitha and welcome to InfoPathDev!

Cool project. Great to hear that you got the XSLT working. That is a challenging exercise. Ian Dawson (aka Dowson) has been struggling with that in the forum. Maybe you can post on what you did to get your XSLT to work. That would be helpful.

Now, regarding going back from Word to XML. I suggest using XML Smart Document. Bind the Word document to an XML schema (XSD) so that the Word document can be saved as XML. Then, use Import (Merge Forms) in InfoPath to pull the XML in. If the XML schemas differ, you can use XSLT to map the XML into your InfoPath form's XML. The IP2003 SDK has an example.

    Good luck!
