How to query a DB, retrieve a previous record, amend, then save back as new

    Hi everyone,

I have a query button that brings back previous data into a form, then the user can overwrite the Card Number which is a primary field in the DB. Most of all the other details will stay the same. When the form is submitted back, it overwrites/updates the previous line with the new number and does not create a new record. Is there any way of coding the submit button to do a submit 'as new'.

The users don't want to retype all of the data, they need to load previous data, modify what they need to, then submit the form to create a new set of records.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you in anticipation.
