I can't access all fields from my SharePoint library in Infopath

     Hello,

I am running into an issue with built-in fields.

I have created a document library in MOSS containing just pictures (no other valuable information). (Note: I have also attempted this with a Picture Library to no avail).

In my Infopath form, I have a dropdownbox.

I want to populate the dropdownbox with the names of the pictures in the library.

    Here is the problem:
I am trying to make this as stream-lined as possible for the end-user.  I want the end-user to simply upload a picture to the library, and then be able to select the picture in the Infopath form.

The problem is that when I make a data connection to this library, the field I am interested in (name) is not available to me.  I have tried binding the dropdownlist to every other field in the list, but there is nothing meaningful other than the ID.  Unfortunately, the ID (1,2,3, etc.) won't mean anything to the end-user.

I don't want the end-user to have to re-enter the name into another column in the list.  I just want him/her to upload the picture, and not have to specify anything else.  Through the UI of MOSS, I can see that the list is generating a Name column off of the original filename.  This is ideally what I'd like to access in Infopath.

    Please help!

Then use a custom list instead of a doc lib, because doc libs have both Name and Title with Name being the actual filename, and Title being the piece of metadata that tells you the "name" of the file.  There is no reason to use a doc lib for pictures, so use a custom list where the name is the title, and see if that works.

Thanks very much for replying.  In the meantime, I actually wrote code for the form load event, to call the list web service to grab the image names and URLs (to bind to the ddl).
