Hey This one has me baffled

Using InfoPath 2003 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003.

When a form is fill out and submitted to a library there is a column that has a default value set. This is not a column mapped to InfoPath data it is a SharePoint column all on its own. It is used in views to group or sort.

When the form is submitted the first time the value in the column is populated as it is suppose to using the default from the settings of the document/form library. If a user open the form and re-submits it to the form library the value in that column is some how removed and left as blank even if it is a required field. I have tried al forms of combinations for this column value but it always gets blanked out.

This happens in more than one library.

I have verified this and it is working fine for me. I used a single line text field with default value to ‘sdf'. What is your column data type and default value?

Single line of text with a default value, I have also tried a drop down, radio button, calculated and nothing works. Well it works on the first submitt but it gets blanked on any subsequent submits. I don't know if it makes a difference but the submit is through code off a button to the datasource.
