Prepopulating a repeating form with data

I'm not sure how to do this.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  I have a spreadsheet that my boss uses to figure out Space Programming.  It's a beast of a spreadsheet.  He wants to convert it into a database or other format that we can use with SharePoint.  My developers are all busy with end of year projects and actually getting SharePoint up and running.  So I took on the task even though I have no clue about databases.  I'm the Network/Blacberry support.

What the form will have is a running autonumber, room name, quanity, square footage, a function to multiply quantity by sqr. ftg, then those will get added up, then multiplied by a factor, then ported over to a summary sheet.  If i just use a regular table I can put this info in and be done with it, but if they ever need to add a room I will have to fix the form and add the room.  I'm trying to get around this by using a repeating table that is prepopulated with the original data.  Can anyone help or point me in the right direction on this?  Thanks

here are the steps to do a repeating table:

    - go to the data source task pane, right click on (myFields) and add a new group called (Room) for example - make sure you check the box that says "Repeating" -.

    - right click on the newly created group, and add as many fields as you want in it.

    - after adding the required fields, right click on the new group (Room) and choose "Repeating Table".

     and you're done.

now if you want these fields inside the table to be populated with default data you can do this by adding a default value for each field from it's properties window.

    hope this helps

You can use a Table in the database, or a list in SharePoint

Create a secondary datasource and populate a dropdown within the Repeating table with ethe values of this secondary datasource.

    OR

You can use code behind to fill in the repeating tabel with the data from the secondary datasource.

Or you can use the solution of Hazem

This could work, the problem with my scenario is that the rows are variable, so I think basing it off some external data but I don't want to make it too complicated.  What I've done so far is input a table with predetermined data, then input a repeating section below that, then added another table that calculates both tables.  It works for what I'm doing because the end user may or may not be on the network when filling out the form and I want portable as possible.
