I have a very simple form that's conncting to a SQL database.  The database has two tables - Quotes, and Line Items.

I'm able to submit quotes.  I can then query a quote, and add a line item to it, and when I submit it, it updates the Line Items table as it should.

The problem I'm running into is this: I want to open up a quote, and change the quote number.  In doing so, if I hit submit, it should submit a new record with all the same information but a new quote number.

Is this possible?

When you hit the submit button, check whether that quote number is existed or not in the line items. If it is available then update the existing one. If not, then write the logic to add a new record in line items.

If you change the quote number and submit the form it just updates the record in DB. To insert a new record in DB, you have to insert a new record in form and submit to DB.
