how to export to excel or access?

thanks to the help i've gotten here the company thinks i can anything with infopath and sharepoint. i'm not much of a programmer but a decent form designer...

anyways the company now wants the data in some forms exported to excel or access.  is there an easy way for crummy programmer to do this?  the forms are already created and get submited to SP.

    thanks,

Hmmm.... If your form schema is fairly flat (no repeating items), you could always promote all the columns and create a linked Excel spreadsheet or Access database....

That makes it less straightforward, then, and you'll probably need code. I've not written anything to export to Excel -- hopefully someone else on the forum has and can contribute some knowledge on that.

I did find a blog post with a sample for using managed code to submit data to an Access DB that may be of some help: http://blogs.3sharp.com/davidg/archive/2005/05/05/637.aspx.

Of course, you could also write or purchase a web service to copy your form data out to a DB. I don't know of any for Access, but Qdabra's DBXL can be used with SQL Express (the free version of SQL). You can download a free demo here, if you care to give it a try.
