Evaluate a row within repeating table

i am trying to do some data evaluation based on a repeating table

via http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2004/04/01/106039.aspx i creating a reperating table of 50 US states -- so i want to know which states have been chosen -- i.e. if alabama is chosen then hide or show another section   -- help is greatly appreciated

i have seen some reference of xdextension but i am quite sure how to implement that (or if is the best easiest simplest method availabe)

    thanks!!!!

    Welcome to the forum.

Once you have your list you would display it in a repeating table with the state and a check box.

Will you allow more than one state choice at a time? A drop down would probably be simpler for the user in that case.

If only one then you put a rule on the check box that loads the state name with the filter selected = true into anoth field in your form.

Then base your conditional formatting on your additioanl section to appear when it is not blank and you can display the selected state.

You could put this into a repeatin group to allow multiple states to be selected sequentially.

If you want the user to select a group of states then you could still use the filter but you are going to return more than one result or just get the first selection if in a non-repeating field.

Alot of how you set it up depends on the form flow.

Thanks!   We have to allow multiple states to be chosen.  --   I still do not see how to distinguish which states have been chosen.

      Thanks!

fyi -- i created my repeating table in a similar fashion as http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2004/04/01/106039.aspx

Do they pick the states in a batch or do they pick one, add some additional information and then pick another?

Essentially you find the one or ones which have been selected by the selected value.  So you use a filter on the list.

When selecting the state use the filter button in the lower left and then add a selected=true.

That way it will only return states where selected = true.  You would also then reset your selected flags once they were ready to choose another.
