I need an image button that toggles visibility of a section

Hi and thanks in advance for the help!

I was thinking this was a simple request but I am new to infopath and I'm having a very hard time with this one piece of functionality.

    I want a button that looks like a + or -.

When the button is clicked, it toggles the visibility of a repeating table. This is very similar to expanding or collapsing a folder in the basic windows explorer.

When the table is visible, the button appears as a minus sign -

When the table is invisible, the button appears as a plus sign +

This is pretty easy but not real intuitive.

    Create your plus button.

create a boolean, true/false, field in your main data source.Default true

Set your repeating table conditional formatting to hide when the field is true

Set conditional formatting on the plus button to hide when the field is false and that when clicked it makes the field false

Add a minus button right next to the plus button.

Set its conditional formatting to hide when the field is true and when clicked it makes the field true

That should toggle the visibility of your table records and have each button only visible when needed.

    That works well, thank you.

One problem however, this toggle button and the related table are both nested inside of a repeating section.

What I am seeing right now is that the first instance of the repeated section is behaving correct while subsequent sections show both the plus/minus buttons visible at the same time.

The blue rectangles in the image below delineate a section instance.

The trick I found to fix this is to manually set all of the subsequent repeating boolean fields to TRUE
