    Getting Subfolders in Sharepoint to Appear

    I have an issue that I know can be resolved in one way but not another.

     Problem.

    Sharepoint folders has subfolders that I need to access bring into Infopath in a drop down list.

    Folders look something like this:

     Projects -> Projects FY08

                  -> files still needing moving to FY07

                  -> On Going Projects

    So the only folders I am interested in is the Projects FY08 folder. I don't see that folder no matter what I do.

    I see the other folders ok but even if I do see those other folders I can cannot go into their subfolders.

    What am I trying to accomplish?

    Answer: I am trying read the sharepoint FY08 Folder that contains a list of folders that are the projects I am interested in. So I can build a list of those projects that will allow the user filling in the form to select that project itself.

    The form will have these fields:

    Projects | Project Phase | Sub Phase | % Time Spent | Due Date

    The others will be internally listed but I wanted the Projects field goto the sharepoint folder for FY08 and simply lists all the projects that are in that folder.

    But the issue seems to be the ability to go to subfolder level.

    Any suggestions?

    I see people who want to have subfolders, similar to a file share, for organizing content but it does not work well in SharePoint, as you have seen. It is not completely supported for all of the functionality.

    I would recommend a seperate document library for each sub category and then make a master page which has the links to each one and allows the user to "browse" to what they want.

    Or if you make the category a column, you can set up a document library view to group documents by category, essentially replicating the look and feel but in a way that you can also filter them in your IP form.

    These would be better methods for categorizing and grouping documents in SP.

    Thanks for the recommendation but if it is setup as a link how do I determine that it is or isn't setup that way?
