In SharePoint I created a form libary which I fill with infopath files (xml). One part of the infopath form is the attachment control. Therefore I havea question. If someone load up a file in this form and saves the infopath file on the sharepoint libary it is not possible to edit the attached file becauce of less editing rights. But I want to give the usersthe chance to edit a attached file. How can I do this? Hi,
I use Infopath 2003 in connection with SharePoint 2003. In SharePoint I created a form libary which I fill with infopath files (xml). One part of the infopath form is the attachment control. Therefore I havea question. If someone load up a file in this form and saves the infopath file on the sharepoint libary it is not possible to edit the attached file becauce of less editing rights. They should be able to open the InfoPath form.
And then use the attachment control to open or save the attachment.
They would then update the document, save it, and attach the new copy.
Does this not work?
It is right that they are able to open the infopath form. They also can open theattached file in the attachment control. But if they open this file and change somethingthey are not able to save the changes becauce of less write rights. If they save the filethey save only a copy in a temp folder on there local device.
