    Infopath2007 and MOSS2007 Timesheet

     Hi

Am new into Infopath2007(Dont even have a vague idea, how to use it).I am into Administration of MOSS and WSS2.0+later.But didnt get a chance to work in Infopath.

Now the time has come and my client need a Timecard management in their MOSS site.I tried with the timemanagement site template available with Microsoft, but not able to customise it as per my clients requirement.

    My requirement is as follows

    Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} All employees will fill out on a daily basis a time sheet with the following fields

                                                                   i.            Date ( default to current date)

                                                                 ii.            Employee Name ( prefilled)

                                                                iii.            Department ( prefilled)

iv.            Client (internal or external – internal could be dropdown)

                                                                 v.            Project ( could belong to same or different department – for a particular client or internal)

                                                               vi.            Classification of Work

    1.      This will be template based for different departments e.g.

    a.      Tech – Bugs, Development, Enhancements, Documentation, Training, Meeting, Personal

    b.      Mktg – Scoping, Client Meeting, Documentation, Internal Meeting, Training, Personal etc

                                                              vii.            Description of Work

                                                            viii.            No of hrs

                                                               ix.            Comments

How can I attain this using Infopath and then integrate it into MOSS.Please help.I have some programming knowledge in .Net also

    So frnds please.....

    Hi,

You can create the form as you mentioned very easily using InfoPath.  There might be many cases before starting development of the form, as follows:

How will user access the form(through infopath client or through browser), what are the data  sources of the prefilled fields, etc.

But after designing the form, you can deploy the form to the MOSS form library from where the user can access the form.

Do let me know, if you need any further information.

    Regards,
