Display hidden controls (calculated vlues) on secondary view

I have multiple buttons and pull downs on my form which populates a hidden calcualted value control.  When I change the view I want it to be without the buttons and pull downs but I want to display the calculated value (results of the choice and DDLB).   I've created the second view and deleted the buttons and DDLB but the calculated value is still hidden so it doesn't display.  What is the best way to bring the calculated value forwrd?  I thought about created another calculate value for when the view is switched and add the condition to my rules for the hidden calculated value control to display but is that the best way to do it?  Thanks!

I may have answered my own question.  I added a textbox that is the same color as my backgroud with no borders then added a default value of 1 for the edit view, then when the button is clicked to change to the archive view, the value is set to 2.  Based on the value of the pseudo textbox for each particular view, I have hiddend the controls or the calculated values.  :p
