    repeating tables and radio buttons

Hello, I've created a browswer enabled form for users to rank items 1 to 5. Since the items will change often I'm storing them in a sharepoint list so end users can modify them and the list will be created dynamically. I've created a repeating table that pulls in the items from a data connection, this works great. However I add a radio button (1 thru 5) in the second column and when I select a value in one row all the rows have the same value. I read something about the radio button needing to be bound to the repeating table but since that is from the secondary data source it won't let me bind to that. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers,Brad Overton

Ok, I've figured this out.   In case anyone else is struggling this is what I did.   I had to add the addtional column for my survey answers to my secondary data source.    Maybe this is infopath 101  but I'm a newbie.   Once I added the column I also needed to give the fields a default value.   Without the default value the radio buttons were read only.

Since there are over 100 table rows I also wanted to populate 5 fields on the form with the values of the corresponding survey answers.   For instance a list of all values with an answer of 1, another with all 2s, etc..  I used this default value formula to do that:  eval(eval(Skills_List[@SkillLevel = "1"], 'concat(@Skill_Name, ";")'), "..")    This returns all Skill_Names from Skills_LIst with a SkillLevel of 1, separated by semicolons.

     Hope this helps someone.

Happy New Year!  Have a great 2008.

I thought I had this figured out but the radio buttons are not saving the selected values when I submit the form.   I'd like them to save so If someone needs to edit them.   Currently they revert to the default value of the secondary data source.    If I don't have a default value in the secondary data source then they are not editable.

    Thanks for any help,

    Brad

     Hi

If I am reading you correctly it seems like your secondary data source needs a subsidiary table for the radio buttons, that way the data will be recorded.

    I hope this helps
