infopath forms without inforpath or sharepoint?

Is it possible to use infopath to create forms that can be used without having to use infopath or a sharepoint server to view the forms or edit data linked to a MS SQL or MySQL database.  I need to create forms that are linked to a database but the cost of infopath and sharepiont is more than I think I can get my company to swing for a project that will only run on one computer.  I have a copy of infopath that is registered to me and not to the company I don't mind using it to create the forms but I am not going to just let the company have my copy.  The forms will be basic displays of data very little if any editing will be done from them.  I know I could just script a web page to do this but if there is already a WYSIWYG that will do it then this is the obvious choice.

I think a lot would depend on what you want to show.

For non-InfoPath clients to view IP forms you need Forms Services or a web server which can render the form in a browser.  You may want to check out the Database Accelerater since it includes a form viewer.Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1 - Developer

With it you could make forms which show SQL Data, but SQL Reporting Services or other mediums would seem a better choice.

If you just need it for one computer than they should at least spring for one copy of Office 2007.

Hi Donovan01 and welcome to our forum,

Forms Viewer is pretty good for basic display of forms. It is not meant to do rich editing and submit of forms. However, it will handle simple submits (i.e. no images, repeating sections, etc.). Our Qdabra DBXL Web Services Suite, which includes DBXL, has many more features. We are coming out with a new version in February and we will be making the Core system free for up to 1000 documents. If you'd like to see a live demonstration, I would be happy to schedule a quick demo for later this week. Just send me an e-mail.

    Best regards,
