two repeating tables in one form

    Hello,

I have my form connected to a database.  The database has three tables in it - General, FJobs, and Jobs.  The three tables are all linked with the ID field.  When I connect my form to the database, I added all three tables. I notice that General - which I added first - has the "repeating" box checked on its properties.  FJobs and Jobs do not have this checked (it is grayed out) on the properties.  On my form, I would like to have two repeating tables - one for FJobs and one for Jobs.  Right now, they are both bound to "General" becuase I can select the fields I need for both tables.  However, if I insert a row in one table, a row is automatically inserted into the other table - which I don't want this to happen.  I tried to bind the FJobs repeating table to FJobs but InfoPath will not allow me because I "cannot bind a repeating table to a non-repeating group or field."  But I can't change the setting for repeating on FJobs because it is grayed out!  Can anyone help me?

     Thanks so much!

    Hey there.

You have run into one of the limitations of the Database type form.  You can only query and submit one table structure, you are bound to certain table relationships, and an insert adds all tables or the whole structure.

You either need top create new seperate forms for the seperate tables or use web services.

Typically we use the Database Accelerator package of Web Services. This provides a tool box of webservices which allow you multiple table queries and multiple table submits among other things.
