    Using Infopath

    Hi,

I have only been using Infopath for a couple of days now and need some advice/help.

I use Word 2007 to create forms for my customers to fill out.   I want to use Infopath 2007 instead and in the following way:

    1) I create an Inforpath Form and send it to an email recipient (outwith my company).

    2) The recipient fills it out and Submits it back to me.

The problem is that my customers may use a Outlook 2000, 2003 etc...   The form will appear in their email but only Outlook 2007 allows it to be filled out.

Is there a way round this so that all outlook users can fill it out?

I want to keep the process as simple as possible.

    Thanks

Outlook should not matter twoo much. You can attach a form and they can fill it out in InfoPath.  Everyone you send the form to would need Infopath 2003 or 2007. There are only a few minor differences whether they have 2003 or 2007.  Worst case they can use any mail client they justc annot fill it in within the Outlook UI, they would need to open the attachment in Infopath.

    Hope this helps.

It would seem that this is a similar scenario to what I am experiencing.

I really needed a form that could either be browser enabled or opened through Outlook but was a standalone form. This does not seem possible without having a form installable (which our suppliers will not allow) or having Infopath enabled?

I could have a secure site and allow authorised users to login open and save the form - does this require web services?

    Thanks

    Carl

    Thanks for replying.

I had a bad feeling that the recipient would need Infopath.   I thought there might be a way to send a Form as standalone package without the client needing Infopath.

     Cheers

With Webservices you can expose them for external access, but the client would still need InfoPath.

Otherwise you need a browser based form which is externally accessible.

Ok thanks, I'll have a look into browser based forms and see what I can come up with.

     Cheers
