    Datasheet View

I have a problem.. I have an infopath document library that has some columns showing number fields. Although the fields in the form are set to 2 decimals in the library they show more. So I opened the site in Frontpage and converted the view to an XSLT view so that I could format the columns.

And now I've discovered that as a result you cannot edit in a datasheet mode. Nor can I export to excel! And reverting it back to a Sharepoint list view resets the formatting. What's going on?

You shouldn't need a custom XSLT to do this. There is supposed to be some way to specify for the SharePoint field how many decimal places to show. I've not done it myself, but was recently involved in a thread where the other user did it.

    Follow up: In SharePoint 2003:

    1. Go to your list, and click Modify Columns and Settings.
    2. In the Columns section, edit the number column you wnat to format.
    3. In the Optional Settings For Column section, select a value other than "Automatic" from the Number Of Decimal Places drop-down list.
    4. Optionally, you can select the Show As Percentage check box.

I don't have the steps for SharePoint 2007, but I assume they are similar.

    I hope this helps!
