Forms are not updating in our Sharepoint library

    Hello,

I took a look around the forums and couldn't find anything that seems to specifically address the issues we're seeing, so I'm going to make my first post here today. It's a verbatim post I originally made on the Usenet. We're using InfoPath 2003 and Sharepoint 2003.

We're starting to use InfoPath + Sharepoint for a project here and we're experiencing quite a few issues. I'll post them one at a time so no one
    gets overwhelmed... :)

When a user opens up a form that has already been submitted to the library, and makes a few changes and resubmits, the form opens a save dialog box opens up immediately after the submit finishes. Regardless of if you cancel out of the save, or if you save it again on your hard drive, the form is not updated in the Form Library on our sharepoint server. I've been unable to find anything about this on Google, so I thought I'd start asking forums and groups.

    Thanks!

    Welcome.

I would check the permissions and settings on your sharepoint library.  I was thinking there was a check box to allow over-write of the forms but I could not find it.

I would make sure your permissions allow for edit. It may be that you have view and insert access but not edit.

That would be my guess on why you cannot update an existing form.

Hi Clay, Thank You for the response. The allow overwrite is located in the Submit setup dialog boxes. I just checked its and good (checked). I'm a collection admin on the Sharepoint site in question, so I should have rights to do anything I want in the site.

I'm thinking it might have something to do with the save dialog popping up right after I hit the submit button, but exactly what is beyond me.

     Zac
