    Full Trust Forms

Hi again, I'm really clueless about this. any help is appreciated.

Since my form uses code to update a SQL database I had to make it full trust. if not I get an error that says Request for the permission of type System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed.

Now that it is full trust I get this error: This form template is trying to access files and settings on your computer. InfoPath cannot grant access to these files and settings because the form template is not fully trusted.

I do not have digial certificates to sign the form with. It appears that if you make a form full trust then you have to sign it? IS there any work around to this? OR am I missing something,

Thanks in advance for your help.

You shouldn't have to sign it if you are using an installer. However, instead of doing this SQL stuff on the client side (which is insecure), I think you should use an middle-tier layer like our Database Accelerator to handle database editing. This will be easier because you only have to establish a mapping and then submit SOAP requests instead of creating objects and extensive classes that run on the client.

Hi ! try to use RegForm Command , InfoPath provides a command-line utility called RegForm that you use to convert a standard form into a trusted form.

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type cmd and click OK.
    3. Navigate to the folder that contains the RegForm tool, typically C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\.
    4. type this command :
    RegForm /U urn:MyForm:MyCompany /T Yes C:\MyForms\MyTrustedForm.xsn

In this example, replace the values for the /U switch and the name of the form template file with your own requirements and file location. The /U option provides the URN, the /T option indicates that the form should be marked as a fully trusted form, and the last parameter is the file and path name of the form template that is to be converted.

When the tool completes its processing, you will see that it created a .js file and a .bak file in the same folder that contains the form template that you are converting. The .bak file is a copy of the original form template file before the fully trusted changes were made to it; the .js file is a script file that can be used to install the fully trusted form.
