    Emailing Infopath Forms

Well I'm embarrassed I can't find the answer to this question though I've searched the forum. I've not purchased InfoPath yet so I'm not familiar with its uses other than what I've read on the MS website. Please forgive the newbie question:

When emailing an Infopath 2007 form, must the recipient also have Infopath to open the form, fill it out, and email it back?

If I have sharepoint services running on my server, can I publish the form to the server and then email the link to an email recipient, where he/she clicks on the link and fills out the form?

Hello Rich and welcome to our forum!

If you are using SharePoint 2007 with Form Services installed then you can just email a link to the site and the user can fill out the form in the browser. Note, there are some limitations on the form features supported in the browser in this first version.

If you want the user to fill out the form in the rich-client and email it back then they must have InfoPath installed on their local machine.

That's a summary and there are more details we can provide if you have specific questions about the email functionality.
