    Infopath forms to folders

I have about 75 infopath forms that were submitted to sharepoint for the month of december 2008.  Workflow is complete, however a case might come up that they need to edit them.  These forms are requests for leave.

I would like to take those documents and move them to a folder named December 2008 within the same list.

So as users tha fill out new request for january they would see the folder that has their leave requests for december 2008, and then at the end of each month they would be put in a folder, and end of the year moved to a record center or deleted....depending on what management desides.

I don't want to get to involved in moving those december leave requests to a folder within the list as we are going to create a new farm and redesign the leave system.

So my question is how is the best way to move those documents and not cause problems to the folder within the list.

    thanks!

    Hello,

We can manually copy and paste those form in to another list and re link those forms. If you want to save those forms using code then you have to follow these steps,

First get those forms using file name

Save or submit those forms using SharePoint submit.

Delete those forms from old library.

If you want to easily automate the process, you can move the files between lists with workflow. It is possible, using SharePoint Designer, to create a workflow to use a “Copy” function from one list to another and then a “Delete” function on the original list. You can also specify when you want the “move” to occur. So, you will have two lists – one for current leave requests (leaves that have not taken place yet), and another for leaves that have already occurred and will no longer receive changes. Once the leaves have occurred, they can be “moved” via workflow to the “Completed Leave” list. You will kick off the workflow upon submit or change, and then use the function “Pause Until Date” as your first action. The “Until Date” will be the date of the leave as specified in the form. This way you ensure the document will move occur after the person has taken their leave.
