    data filtering in web-enabled form

    Using a web-enabled form...

    The form includes a dropdown list that uses, as it's data source, column A from a sharepoint list that consists of 2 columns, A and B.

    When a value from the dropdown list is selected, I want to set the value of another control, say a text box, with the value of column B that corresponds with the entry selected from the dropdown list.

    These values will be submitted to a sharepoint form library.

    I got close by using a repeating section. I can hide the entries in the repeating section that don't match the value selected in the dropdown. So, I end up with the desired value of B. However, I can't publish the value contained w/in a repeating section. So, I tried to set a textbox value to the value contained in the repeating section but that doesn't work... it isn't sensitive to whether or not a value is hidden... it sets to either the first or last entry in the list... I can't remember.

    So, I need to derive the value of B that corresponds to the selected value of A in order to publish these values in my sharepoint form library. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Greg

    You need to use a rule on the drop-down list box.
    The rule will set the value of the field. The value set will be filtered based on the selected value in the drop-down:

    field = SpList/textValue[../ddValue = (MAINDOM)/ddValue]

    The above is not exact, just to give you an idea what to do.

    Greg -
    Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to interpret your formula. Here's what I tried...

    Team_Members/@Employee_Email_ID [Team_Members/@Employee_Name = Emp]

    Where...
    Team_Members is the splist
    @Employee_Email_ID is the field in Team_Members containing the value that I want to load into the text box
    @Employee_Name is another field in Team_Members that I want to compare to the selection from the drop down list (Emp)
    Emp is the drop down list

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Something more like:

    Team_Members/@Employee_Email_ID[../@Employee_Name = xdXDocument:get-DOM()/my:myFields/my:Emp]
