    Accessing Promoted Fields for IP Schemas

    Hi. When I created my InfoPath form from an SQL dataconnection, 3 schemas were generated.
    A main schema and a schema each for the datafields and queryfields that is used by the main schema as references.

    My question is simple, what do I promote using quick promotion? The fields on the main schema that references the datafield schema or the datafield schema itself? And what namespace do I use for the messages and ports? When I look at the main schema, I get a lot of xmlns's [d,dfs,q and b]

    * I already modified the schema so that the max occurs is '1' not 'unbounded' because biztalk would only allow single occurences for promoted fields.

    thanks,
    mike

    Re: Accessing Promoted Fields for IP Schemas

    Solved:

    I used the targetNamespace on the main schema and also used this schema for the ports and messages. As for the promoted properties, since the query fields will be of no practical use in biztalk and in my app, I promoted the fields on the datafield section only. The only tricky part was on configuring the biztalk sharepoint adapter sendport's URI for the base filename. I later found out that you can just copy the Instance XPath found on the property page of the desired field. By the looks of it I wouldn't have been able to code it manually:

    /*[local-name()='myFields' and namespace-uri()='http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/dataFormSolution']/*[local-name()='dataFields' and namespace-uri()='http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/dataFormSolution']/*[local-name()='tblServiceOrderDetails' and namespace-uri()='http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/ado/dataFields']/@*[local-name()='OrderNumber' and namespace-uri()='']

    ...and that's just for a single field!
