    Calling "Clear Formatting" Programtically

    When some text is pasted into a richtext box in Infopath form, is it possible to call the "Clear Formatting" option programatically?

    Hello Suraj,
    What do you mean by clear formatting here?

    "Clear Formatting" option that is available from

    Format-> Font-> Clear Formatting

    When a area is choosen and clear Formatting is clicked, it would act the same as outlook's "Copy only Text" when something is being pasted from somewhere else into outlook.

    What i am trying to accomplish is to try and remove formatting when it is being pasted into the Infopath form. We currently have different users pasting data from different sources like web, word documents, PPT's, etc and they are lazy to do it manually. They want it to happen as they paste text into the textbox.

    Hello Suraj,

    Rich text box itself properties works like contains all formatting styles and data. If you want normal text data then you can directly change data type from ‘Rich Text (XHTML)' to ‘string'. It will works for you normal text with out any formatting includes.

    We don't have option like clear the formatting using code. We can do directly InfoPath field properties box.

    • 1. Double click on field, open the properties window.
    • 2. Go to ‘Display' tab.
    • 3. Uncheck ‘Character formatting' and ‘Full rich text (images, tables, etc.)' checkboxes.

    Then it will works as normal text box.
