Adding web service to pre-existing form (having issues)

We have an existing form that is filled out and people manually take the data from the form and enter it into a system. A web service has been developed that automates what the users have been doing manually copy/pasting from the form.

I updated the existing form by adding a new data connection to the web service. I then drag/dropped all of the query fields and data fields onto a new view and mapped all of the existing fields to their appropriate query fields through the push of a button.

Upon pushing the button I noticed that my repeating tables were not copied to the query fields. Upon further investigation, I understand why. Selecting the repeating section that was added by dragging/dropping the query fields and viewing the properties, under default settings "Allow users to insert and delete sections" is unchecked and it's greyed out.

When creating a new form based off of this web service and doing the same drag/drop, the repeating table section properties under default settings has "Allow users to insert and delete sections" checked and it's not greyed out.

I spoke with a colleague who's more experienced with infopath and they said that whenever they encounter this issue, they just start over. While starting over is an option, having to rebuild the existing form with it's 150-200+ data validations and rules set up will be very time consuming and will set me back at least a week.

Is my colleague correct? Do I have to start over using the web service as my template? Or is there something on my existing form I can change that allows me up update the properties on the repeating section to allow me to insert/delete sections? If it helps creating a blank infopath form and adding the webservice as a data connection results in the same issue. The only way I've found so far for me to be able to change the properties on the query fields is if I create a new form based off of the web service.

It's probably best to avoid completely starting over, and creating a form based off of a webservice has its own large limitations, as I can see in another thread that you've already discovered.

For whatever reason, InfoPath doesn't allow using the Add Row/Delete row actions on repeating tables bound to a secondary data source, but there is a way around this.  qRules (see the banner below) provides the Insert and Delete commands that can be used to add and remove nodes even in a secondary data source.  Just create buttons that use these commands and you're all set.  Why not give the free trial version a try?

Thanks for the response Jimmy.  Is qRules the only way to get around this?  I'm comfortable writing c# code and have written c# code to copy a repeating table to a repeating table and that's worked on the main data source.  I was assuming that the reason it wasn't writing to the secondary data source was only because the option to add/remove nodes was turned off by default.  Does the qRule software by pass that default and is that the only way to do so?  I will definitely check out the free trial, I'm just unsure if I we'll have any room in the budget for buying 3rd party software.
