Writing Multiple SQL Records from a Single InfoPath Form Possible?

Currently, I have used a single infopath form to capture data entry to my sql database for operational metrics (eg. number of overtime hours this month). My sql back end schema is very generic (metricID, metricvalue, Metricperioddate, todaysdate). All my metrics basically are stored in a consistent format.

My problem is end user ease of use. If a certain admin is responsible to enter multiple metrics, the current implemention would require them to move from one form to another (my problem seems to be with the sql key field, one form, one submit, one record).

As the metrics are formated consistently, I would like to give them the option of using a repeating table and enter in several metrics at the same time... If I try to submit multiple records, the database only recognizing the first record. (again, I think it has something to do with the key field...??)...

can I do multiple sql record stores from the standard infopath/sharepoint tools?...HOW?

     Thank you for the help!

Re: Writing Multiple SQL Records from a Single InfoPath Form Possible?

    Hi:

I created a form off a database -- a very simple table, and was able to submit multiple record changes at once. I simply put a repeating table on my form bound to the repeating group inside the dataFields group. I left the "Run Query" button that InfoPath helpfully adds when creating such a form (the specific Run Query action is only available for buttons, I believe). I previewed the form, clicked the Run Query button to get my table results (since I didn't put any values in any of the queryFields, my full table data set was returned), made changes in the repeating table and submitted successfully.

All that being said, I'd suggest if you are having problems with multiple record submit, it may have to do with how you are initially loading the data into the form. Make sure you have a database bound form, and then use the button actions for running the query.
