Okay, here's the situation I'm in and what I'm trying to accomplish.
First, I have an InfoPath form that I mapped to a content type when I first published it. In other words there are fields that don't necessarily share the same name, but are mapped accordingly:
| Fields In My InfoPath Form | Field In My Content Type |
| Cust_ID | Customer ID |
| Field_X | Field X |
| Y | Z |
...which I did by selecting to publish to a SharePoint site, where I "updated an existing content type" (mapped the fields).
Ordinarily, I can just repeat this process at will, but where it gets a little complicated is in the fact that I added code to the browser-based form which requires administrator approval and a different deployment strategy. In other words, I can no longer deploy and opt to "update an existing content type".
So how would I add "field Y" to the content type and InfoPath form so that they can stay in synch and/or be re-mapped? I can't seem to find a way in the InfoPath designer to accomplish the task, save for an option to "Convert Main Data Source" which produces a rather nasty schema to deal with (wierd nesting and auto-generated namespaces).
So anyway, is there a way to map the fields of my InfoPath form to a content type without the "Convert Main Data Source" and with the aparent limitation imposed on publishing with an administrator-approved form?
