InfoPath Dev

I have developed a form in InfoPath 2007 and set it to be browser-enabled. I have published it to a shared drive and then as a Sharepoint Admin, uploaded and activated the new form for my sharepoint site. I had to make a few changes to the from and uploaded it 2 more times selecting to update the existing form if it existed. All that worked well.
Now however when I removed a coule rules I didnt need from the form and tried to upload it a 3rd time, replacing the existing form, I get an error:

[Solution "form_name" is not deployed. It is upgraded in the configuration database. To deploy to the front end machines, use the Deploy Method]

I dont want to deploy this to front end machines as it needs to be deployed to the forms server so it can be displayed in a browser. I dont understand why it is having an issue on this 3rd upload of the same form. Anyone have any ideas?

It seems when you made some changes initially to the form it was only data changes in the form and the third you had changed the design. So when you change the design you need to deploy the the form again so that the template will be updated.

Thank you for the info, but I guess my problem is that I am not sure how it wants me to deploy it now. I am following the same procedure to upload the form that I did initially. There is not indication on how to deploy it other then the method I have been using.

You are getting the error because the Infopath form mismatches with infopath form template.
If you have removed some rules in the form then you should also remove the same in the Infopath form template and then publish that again and then upload your form to that template.

Yes I have opened the form template in design mode and removed a couple rules. I then published the form template and uploaded it to Sharepoint indicating that I want it to upgrade the existing form template. This should work...I dotn want to remove the existing template as I have forms based on that template already active in the forms library.
