    How InfoPath works?

    Hi,

I'm writing an application that in part is similar to InfoPath.
How does InfoPath display its forms? It doesn't look like its using WinForms or HTML.. Any Ideas?
I know this question has been asked many times but is there a Free viewer for Inforpath?

Hi sajohnstone and welcome to the InfoPathDev forums

InfoPath forms use a combination of things to display - both HTML and CSS. Here are some articles that might help you understand InfoPath. Basically and InfoPath file is compressed file and within that compressed files are the nescessary supporting files that creat the form.

InfoPath uses XSLT to generate the HTML/CSS that is used to display the form.

Click on the Downloads link in the site menu... there's a viewer you can get from there.

    Hi,

I just have a quick question...I am just starting to overlook infopath and I was wondering when using it with Biztalk 2004 orchestrations, can you use an xml document to populate the fields in an order form where the user chooses what they want from the drop down lists and then send the info on to the orchestration for processing the order?

    Thanks,
    Sharon

    Hello

Yes you can use XML file as the secondary data connection and populate the fields in the order form.

Oh great, and then once the form is made is there an option to incorporate it onto a asp.net web page without much hassle? I am using windows xp so I don't have the option of using windows share point services.

    Thanks,
    Sharon
