Using functions to return date in US format

I have a Data Connection configured to submit an e-mail message with the filled out form attached and I want to include data from the date field in my message subject however, the date field always comes across in the format YYYY-MM-DD. I#%92d like it to be MM-DD-YYYY if possible but I#%92m not much of a function coder.

On the form, I use a text field in my data source to capture the date from a Date Picker control. In the control, I have set the format so it shows the weekday as well as the year and this works fine when displayed on the form but that format does not follow across to the data connection I#%92ve configured.

Is there an option I can set to give me the proper format in the Data Connection or do I need to use a series of text functions to cut the date field apart and rearrange it the way I want it?

    Hi,

It's an XML specification the date is always send by a date picker in this format (YYYY-mm-DD) so the only things to made is transform to rearrange it!

But if in your schema this field is define as datetime this would be make an error if you tra to validate after have make the transform!

How would I rearrange the date in my transform?

    Hi Jim Dandy,
I think there is some script code in some of the 25 sample forms that come with InfoPath which manipulate the dates. Open Meeting Agenda and extract the form files to a file. Open the script.js files and search for date functions. That's a start.
