    InfoPath as a Timecard System

I have a request from one of our IT people to set up InfoPath on Sharepoint to use as a timecard system. I would assume that he wants people to access the timecard form out of Sharepoint and have the data sent back to a database on Submit. Has anyone ever done this? It sounds simple, but maybe I just don't understand InfoPath well enough to know how difficult it is. Any help you can give is appreciated.

I know, I posted this here by mistake. I meant to post it in the general section to begin with and then realized my error. Sorry.
