    Calandars in Infopath

    Hi

Is there anyway we can have a calendar feature in infopath. I am designing a form in which users have to track events on the form and require a calendar to note the event.

    Appreciate your help

Besides the Date Picker control, there isn't much in the way of a "Calendar". Sound like you might want to interface with Outlook and use the Calendar functionality provided there. Otherwise, coding a custom Calendar in InfoPath would probably be incredibly hard. However, maybe there is a custom ActiveX control out there that you could download and it performs how you need it to.

Matt is right, you should look into integration with Outlook. No use to re-invent the wheel if you can exchange data with Outlook. In any case, it won't be trivial and will involve a lot of Managed Code behind.
    Good luck!

    Hi Vapires,
Search on the Microsoft site (msdn.microsoft.com) for the Recruiting Accelerator. It has a form that includes calendar support like Outlook and there is source code available. It's tricky and will take time but we spent a lot of time building it, so should be doable. The other option is the create an SharePoint webpart to do it and a Web service to intermediate.

    Hi,
Firstly, Thanks Guys. I have one more question. I found this today. When you are in infopath, if you go to
Insert ->More Controls->Add or Remove Custom Controls->Calendar Control 11.0 . Do you think I would be ablet o modify this to enable users to enter text into it and if so how would you go abut it. I will try out the solutions above too, but I am just trying to limit the code I might have to write. Appreciate your help.

    Hi VidetteP,
Ah... ActiveX controls. Requires more work, but yes you should be able to integrate ActiveX controls in InfoPath. We have done so. In fact, the Smart Combo Box that we sell is an ActiveX control for InfoPath. Let me know if you need more help. Jim is our ActiveX control expert.
