    digital signature with an image

I'm fairly new to infopath, but used it enough for it to frustrate me.  I am wondering if there is a way to make a signature line like you can do in word and be able to add a picture (image) of a signature and at the same time digitally sign the form.  If its not possible i think a workaround would be to add a picture control to add the signature image and then write some code to initiate the digital signature wizard, and then submit the form.  I don't have any code experience with infopath, and I would appreciate if someone could help me with this.  Thank You.

    Hi

If i understand you correctly you are talking about two completely different things.  The picture of the signature is just that, digital signatures are something completely different.

To digitally sign a section of the form, create a "section" and place inside it all the things you want authorised.  Go into Tools then form options and digital signatures and select the secition to authorise.  Lastly double click on the section on the form itself, go into the Digital Signatures tab tick the box and away you go.

    Job done

    I hope this helps

    Adam,
Thank you for your help!! I never tried the signing a section, and that allows me to attach an image.  Awesome!  Now to make this more dummy proof, can I add a button to the form that would initialize the signing wizard?  and afterward send an email?  if so what would that code be?  Thanks again for your help!

Also... what what would be cool... if there would be a way when I click the sign button and the users puts a signature image in and that image could then somehow be put on the form maybe through code or something.  What do you think?

    OK

Digitally signing the section leaves an ICON in the users task bar and a link on the page at the bottom of the section saying CLICK HERE TO SIGN THIS or something like that.  This, however, is a discrete process and would not allow attachment of a image of a signature.

Digitally signing a section DOES NOT attach an image it adds a code into the form that certifies the content of the area, a separate physical representation of the signature would have to be added through a picture control.

    I hope this helps
