    Change field type

Is there a way to script the change of a field so that it becomes a textbox instead of a listbox? or even change the field to read-only / disabled?

    Thanks

    Hi Mik,
Why not just use conditional formatting. Create section and put the control in that and then double click on the section, go to display, and add conditional formatting to make it visible or not. You'll need two sections - one with a list box and one with a textbox. For read-only, you can do the same thing. Should be trivial. Good luck!

There seems to be some inconsistency with the conditional formatting. I had tried it, but the formatting is lost when i open the form in design mode again.

I dont know why this was happening.. so i was wondering if there was an alternative solution

When you open in design mode it displays all of your controls as if they were visible... If it didn't then how would you design? Or am I misunderstanding your question?

    Hi,
As Patrick suggested put the ListBox control in one section and TextBox control in another section. Now have conditional formatting on the section.
Don't add conditional formatting to ListBox or TextBox.
