Display Multiple Lists data in a single InfoPath Form

Hi! I'm relatively new to SharePoint and InfoPath (and forum sites). Forgive me if the answer can be found somewhere else - I couldn't find anything but this: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/21871/75592.aspx#75592

Make sure you create your form using InfoPath and not a List Form. List forms can pull data from multiple lists, but can only submit to one list. To submit to multiple lists, you need to create a full-fledged InfoPath form (as opposed to a simple list form) and use qRules with multiple mapping to submit to both lists. Here's a link to a video Hilary did showing how to do it:

I do not have qRules and to be honest I don't want to buy qRules. There has to be a way to do this without needing another piece of software in the mix... isn't there? Especially since the functionality is there in SharePoint already - InfoPath is only needed to make it look nicer. But that is a good suggestion about the form type. I hadn't thought of it. I will give it a try and see if I can make it work. Thanks for the recommendation! Kristen
